The Company

The Fiorio brand was born in Milan in 1946 thanks to the creative genius of the Fiorio family, already owners of a luxury leather goods company and it became famous thanks to a collection of scarves.

The fame of its creations led Fiorio to partner with the finest Parisian fashion designers: by the seventies, the famous floral scarves of the Milanese label already adorned the necks of princesses or the bags of First Ladies.
The progress from scarves to ties was rapid: the same class and attention to detail for a style that was soon recognised as unique for the quality and elegance of its fabrics. Today, Fiorio continues in the same vein of its tradition, also thanks to its acquisition by the Canepa group, a leading company in the textile sector from the Como area. Our collections are born of passionate and artistic workmanship for ties, shoes, purses, bowties, bathing suits and coats.

Unmistakeable style and attention to detail

The style is unmistakeable, as is the quality which is held in high esteem both in Italy and abroad, especially in Japan - a market in which Fiorio is creating and distributing exclusive collections to satisfy the needs of every customer down to the smallest detail. Constant attention to particulars and careful craftsmanship in production ensure that its products represent excellence in Italian tailoring.

From 2007 with Canepa: creativity, quality and respect for the environment

2007 is a key year in the history of Fiorio: it is the year that became part of the Canepa Group, the historic Como-based company and a leader in the textile sector specialising in high-end products. This change gave the brand renewed vigour: Fiorio kept its traditional values but also evolved with new product and marketing ideas. Creativity, high-quality manufacturing and respect for the environment are the fundamentals which characterise the collections’ ability to satisfy the increasingly challenging demands of the market. Constant respect for the environment is achieved through innovation: sustainability is a key issue for the company showing that, with the development of patents for the various types of products, it is possible to move forwards while preserving the traditions of the past. And all the magic and inspiration of the past can be discovered in the library. Built up over time by Canepa, it now contains over 15,000 historic volumes on fabric for clothing dating from the 1800s up to the present day.

An international dimension and the patented SAVEtheWATER® system

Fiorio is looking increasingly beyond national borders. This is highlighted by its historic links with Pitti Immagine, the leading international platform for collections of clothing and accessories, and for launching new projects in the fashion sector. Every season, the brand showcases its new products to an increasingly beguiled audience. And it was at Pitti Immagine where they presented the first collection of scarves produced using the patented environmentally-friendly SAVEtheWATER® system. This demonstrated the evolution of the brand, moving towards greater environmental sustainability – a practical commitment towards protecting the environment which applies both to the production of scarves as well as ties. The patented SAVEtheWATER® system helps to save a significant amount of water and energy, as well as reducing the quantity of harmful substances. By using a food-based substance obtained from chitin, contained in the exoskeleton of crustaceans, the consumption of water and energy is reduced by 90% compared to traditional processes. The quantity of detergents, bleaches and chemical agents is also dramatically reduced. The company is constantly investing in innovating the industrial process to create an increasingly sustainable and transparent supply chain, improving the performance of products while ensuring that they remain of the highest quality. Therefore, the 70th anniversary marks the start of a new ambitious objective. Fiorio is proud of the significant improvement it is making to its products, not only in the name of style itself, but also in order to place ethics at the heart of its development.
